Time for Word Jumble!

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

Well, the daily new vocabulary words were taking longer to learn. Miss Pat knew she had to come up with something special at the end of every vocabulary session to reward the “Can Do” kids for their hard work.

Since they love word jumbles she decided to give them a word jumble every time they did well.

Here is one they got after a pop spelling quiz.

Just print it out and see how you do.

The “Can Do” Chefs Club Does Asian for International Day

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

The “Can Do” Chefs Club received an invitation from Miss Sue to make  lunch for the kindergarteners on International Day at the “Can Do” Street Community Center.

Miss Sue’s invitation read, “Please prepare a lunch that will be suitable for celebrating International Day.”

“Huh,” said Hector. “Wow, that’s hard, “said Nellie. Kathy just looked blank as she tried to think of something to make that would fit an International Day and that young kids would be willing to eat.

Then Yundi said,”I’ve got it,” said Yundi. “We make an Asian lunch. We serve sushi and teach the kids to use chopsticks.” The rest of the Chefs Club members just stared at him and Kathy said, “What little kid, that isn’t Asian, would eat raw fish?” everyone laughed, even Yundi.

Yundi said,”We won’t make sushi with fish. We’ll make peanut butter and jelly sushi rolls.” And that is just what they did!

Oh, the kindergarteners just loved it! Miss Sue was so pleased and all the parents were so impressed with what the “Can Do” Chefs Club members managed to do for International Day.

Why not be a “Can Do’ Chef and make your own peanut butter and jelly sushi rolls and serve them to your family?

Name That Country!

Saturday, March 3rd, 2012

The “Can Dos” are not very interested in geography, so Miss Pat installed a new game on their computers hoping it would make them more interested in a lesson about naming each country in Europe.

The new game is a puzzle. It is a map of Europe. To play you need  to match the shapes of the puzzle pieces to the shape of the country.

To play along with the “Can Do” Kids, just go to the “Can Do” Club House, choose more games and choose “Europe Jigsaw Puzzle.”

Let’s see how you well you know geography. Name that country!

A New Word Jumble

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

Evert time the “Can Dos” have a long weekend, or a school break, the best word to describe their first day back to class…tough.

On days like this, mostly all of the boys and girls have a hard time settling in and paying attention.

Miss Pat tries to have new word exercises every day so the “Can Dos” can build their vocabulary, but after a school break, she needs to use word games to get and hold their attention.

So  here is the word game, a word jumble to be exact, that Miss Pat gave the class to do.

Why not print the word jumble and see how you do?

A Math Quiz

Friday, February 17th, 2012

It was the day before a 3-day weekend. The “Can Dos” were having a hard time focusing on school work. Most were thinking about what they were going to do with three days off!

Miss Pat had already reviewed what President’s Day was all about. They spent time talking about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and all that they did for America.

So…now what thought Miss Pat. Then she remembered the math game she put on the computers.

“Class,” said Miss Pat, time for a math quiz.” Several of the “Can Dos” let out groans and moans.

“That’s enough,” said Miss Pat. “Go to your computers and let’s get started. Today’s math quiz is about the 2x table and adding one.”

Why don’t you play along. Just go to the “Can Do” Club House, choose games and choose times table +1.

Good luck with the math quiz!
